MOP - The CompanyCreative workshops, Festival, Theatre, Processions, Live Music...Means
of Production is a UK–based
Community Arts company which aims to produce socially engaged
participatory
arts projects involving communities of all types. MOP practitioners have collaborated with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Glastonbury Festival of Music and the Arts, Welfare State International, English Touring Theatre and the Eden Project performance company, among others. All MOP practitioners are CRB certified for youth work and bring a highly-committed, inclusive and dynamic approach to every project. MOP was set up with a focus on Participatory Arts - teaching creative skills which can be passed on in communities. The company encourages practical engagement with the Arts by people of all ages and backgrounds, often linked to a calendar of festivity. Many MOP projects seek to draw out or re-imagine community histories or locations through site-specific festival or the creation of contemporary myths for the young. We specialise in turning specific locations into beautiful performance areas for processions, theatre, music and dance. MOP education work offers bespoke evening classes and workshop courses in the creative arts. We can provide Theatre Arts sessions leading to GCSE Drama and AS/A2 Theatre Studies for institutions affiliated to the major exam boards. MOP are happy to design short courses, events or workshops suited to your needs and budgets or linked to site-specific, festival or calendar events. |
