MOP - The Company

Creative workshops, Festival, Theatre, Processions, Live Music...

Means of Production is a collective of independent arts practitioners which includes professional film-makers, theatre directors, visual artists, workshop leaders and performers with years of practical experience between them.

MOP artists are trained in a range of art forms, from mask-making and performance to lighting design and operation, multi-media performance, fire sculpture and pyrotechnics, community drama, touring theatre for children, TIE, film-production and regional youth theatre direction.

All MOP practitioners are CRB certified for youth work and bring a highly-committed, inclusive and dynamic approach to every project.

MOP was set up with a focus on Participatory Arts - teaching creative skills which can be passed on in communities. The company encourages practical engagement with the Arts by people of all ages and backgrounds, often linked to a calendar of festivity.

Many MOP projects seek to draw out or re-imagine community histories or locations through site-specific festival or the creation of contemporary theatre for the young.

MOP education work offers bespoke evening classes and workshop courses in the creative arts. We can provide Theatre Arts sessions leading to GCSE Drama and AS/A2 Theatre Studies for institutions affiliated to the major exam boards.

MOP are happy to design short courses, events or workshops suited to your needs and budgets or linked to site-specific, festival or calendar events.
