What people have said
about MOP projects:
Devon Youth Theatre 2007
Jon proved to be an
outstanding workshop leader and an inspiring playwright. He
demonstrated an approach that was continually challenging both himself,
the rest of the teaching team and the young participants to obtain the
highest standards.
Clare Saunders - School Project Manager, Devon Arts In Schools Initiative.
Think Tank - Interactive DVD Film Script for the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon:
“The aim
of this project is to increase access to our museum collections, using film as
a way of introducing the objects that we bring into schools.
A DVD
used in class includes a number of interactive games with the aim of helping
children learn interpretation and critical thinking skills (while having lots
of fun!).
Jon worked with us to develop the script and
was, from the start, clearly a creative person with the ability to deliver the
material we needed on deadline.
Developing
the outline story for our film with Jon was an easy and enjoyable process and
he was responsive to our comments on his work.
In the
end Jon helped us deliver a product that met all our aims and indeed surpassed
our expectations!"

Participant Reviews:
Compton and Marldon Candlemas Lantern Festival 2006

The
event was very well organised with stewards overseeing the processions
and the gathering on the meadow. There were some excellent performers
in the community cabaret at the Village Hall. All in all 2006 was a
thoroughly memorable occasion. - David
Saward
As
relative newcomers to the area we felt it brought the community
together in a socially meaningful way. Ann Saward.
The
event was safe and well organised - my granddaughters particularly
liked the procession and the meadow bonfire, watching the other
processions coming in and the beautiful lanterns people had created and
displayed. - Joyce Podger.
It was
good to see so many age groups taking part in the workshops, in the
processions and the hall gathering afterwards. The processions were
lovely - what a perfect night of starry skies, people chattering and
laughing and the magical moment of standing at the bottom of Meadow
Close and looking back up to the lanterns bobbing towards us. - Alan Podger.
I really
enjoyed the workshop. I did not realise I had the talent in me to make
lanterns and I sincerely hope they will be used again in the future. - Lynda Sloman.
I can
still see that beautiful scene of all the lanterns hanging up in the
meadow - well done and thanks again! - Gill Durbidge.
Dartington Primary
School. Lantern making workshops for Eco-week, January 2006
Excellent
communication. Detailed paperwork. Very efficient and well organised
The
workshops ran smoothly, were well prepared and organised and the use of
sustainable materials supported our eco-theme.
Excellent
value for money - definitely financially viable.
We would
definitely work with Means of Production again.
Sian Cox - Dartington Primary
We all
loved the workshop and learned a lot from it.
It
linked well to Design and Technology and also fitted with our Literacy
focus on processes and explanations via a printed worksheet.
Jon
engaged all the children, they all understood the process and were
supported as and when needed.
Lots of
fun. The children achieved an amazing level of creativity.
All felt
proud of their achievement and this was evident in the finished
products.
Gill Lovelle - Dartington Primary
